Food Donations 

You can help to re-fill our shelves by donating food items. There are several ways you can donate: 

  • Pop a few items into the Foodbank Donation Bins when you're shopping at your local supermarket (New World Lower Hutt, Countdown Queensgate, Pak'n'Save Lower Hutt and Pak'n'Save Petone) 
  • Place an online shopping order with New World or Countdown for delivery to the Foodbank during our opening hours
  • Drop items off to us at the Foodbank during our opening hours 

Urgently needed: 

  • Soup
  • Canned Tuna
  • Spreads e.g. Jam, peanut butter, etc
  • Sanitary Pads
  • Tampons
  • Nappies sizes 3,4,5,6

We are always in need of:

    Seasonal fresh fruit and vegetables
    Tinned vegetables such as corn kernels, beans, peas, carrots, tomatoes
    Tinned fish and canned meats
    Tinned fruit
    Tinned spaghetti and baked beans
    Tinned soups and dried soup packets
    Tea bags and milk powder
    Baby food, baby milk formula, baby nappies and wipes
    Dried goods such as rice, sugar, flour, instant noodles and pasta
    Biscuits, snack and muesli bars
    Spreads such as jam, peanut butter and marmite
    Household items such as bar soap, soap powder, toilet rolls, toothbrushes, toothpaste, shampoo etc

Monetary Donations 

Monetary donations are used to enable the Foodbank to keep operating. There are several ways you can donate: 

  • Make a one-off or regular* donation on our Givealittle page here (a donation receipt is delivered straight away to the e-mail address you enter)
  • Donate direct into our bank account: 03-0531-0526749-01 - Lower Hutt Foodbank (provide your name in the PARTICULARS field and send us an email with address details for your receipt)
  • Donate by Cheque to Lower Hutt Community Foodbank, PO Box 31172, Lower Hutt 5010
*You could also consider a regular donation to help the Foodbank cover rental costs. 

The Lower Hutt Community Foodbank is registered as a charitable entity (CC25676). All donations qualify for tax credits and receipts will be issued in April each year after the end of the tax year (or earlier if requested).

Fundraising Events 

You could host a fundraising event at your office, home or school and donate the proceeds to the Foodbank. If it's a public event, send our Secretary an email to and we will promote it on our facebook page.
